  1.     You can add notes to each square on the map.  The solid polka dot on the map is the notes pointer; it shows the currently selected map square.  The notes for that square will appear in the text rectangle to the left of the map. To add or read notes, just point and click on the map square you want.  The notes pointer will move to that square, and any old notes for that square will appear in the rectangle.  You can add to the notes just by typing.
  2.     Squares with notes are marked on the map with asterisks * .   When you add new notes, the asterisk for that square will appear the next time you look at the map, or the next time you click on a map square, whichever you do first.
  3.     If you get a new note half-typed in and then change your mind, the Cancel New Note button will throw away your new note and restore the old one.
